Cancer Organisations
The most common cancers diagnosed, according to the Irish Cancer Society, are skin cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, and bowel cancer. Skin cancer is the most prevalent, with over 11,000 estimated new cases annually. Prostate cancer is the most common among men, followed by lung and bowel cancers. For women, breast cancer is the most common, followed by lung and bowel cancers.

ARC Cancer Support Centre
ARC’s Cancer Support Centres are a haven from the outside world, offering support, free-of-charge, to adults and children (4+) affected by cancer and those who care for them. ARC provides information support by phone, e-mail or in centre as well as counselling, complementary therapies, wellness classes, support groups, survivorship programmes and information talks. ARC has three centres located in Dublin 4,7 and 8.

Irish Cancer Society
The Irish Cancer Society’s goal is to improve the lives of those affected by cancer. They provide up-to-date information and a range of services, while also working to influence change and raise awareness of cancer issues. They are the largest voluntary funder of cancer research in Ireland.

Marie Keating Foundation
The Marie Keating Foundation is a leading voice in cancer awareness and information for both men and women in Ireland. It provides information on all major cancers, and their services are provided free of charge. Their collective aim is “making cancer less frightening by enlightening.”
Marie Curie Foundation, also supports the SurviveandThrive.ie website which aims to provide a specific online space which would contain resources and information that would help to support cancer survivors, carers and people living with advanced cancer.

Teenage Cancer Trust offers unique care and support, designed for and with young people. They fund specialised nurses, youth workers and hospital units in the NHS, so young people have dedicated staff and facilities to support them throughout treatment.
They run events for young people with cancer to help them regain independence and meet other young people going through something similar. And they provide easy-to-understand information about every aspect of living with cancer as a young person
